I have always admired caregivers for the sacrifices they make for their loved ones. In recent weeks my admiration for them has only deepened as my wife and I welcomed in our first child. We have been learning the art of burping, changing diapers, surviving those sleepless nights and of course providing the love our daughter needs.
I realized that our family’s time of transition is truly a on the job learning experience. It was not a surprise that the caregivers I’ve met in the past few years came to mind as I coordinated my newborn’s medical appointments, health care insurance registration and transition from the hospital to home.
Today the elderly are living longer lives within their communities. I tip my hat to all caregivers for their sacrifices which in many situations make this possible.

You have drawn a great parallel. Such perspectives and learning from our own experiences make us a better person. It teaches us empathy; vital to the role of any care provider.
